How it all started

The KENYA Airlift Program was founded in 2018 by two Kenyans; Mr. Bob Mwiti, the Managing Director Appstec America and Hon. DMK Kiogora the Member of County Assembly Abogeta West, Meru County. The duo had a vision of impacting the lives of bright needy Kenyan youth.

Mr. Mwiti who relocated to USA in 2009 as an international student had a very challenging journey through the process, from getting denied visa 4 times to graduating and not being able to find work immediately, before he secured employment as a System Analyst with some of the Fortune 500 companies in the US. It’s from these challenges that he cofounded The KENYA Airlift Program together with Hon. DMK. Kiogora.

On the other hand, Hon DMK while on a trip to USA 2018, was inspired by the many Kenyans who had achieved the American dream, and during that trip he was introduced to Bob with whom he shared his vision of helping the Kenyan youth. Due to financial challenges faced during the relocation process, he formed the Airlift Sacco to finance the relocation expenses for the students in the program.
